Yesterday, I learned how to make my hair look like this: (albeit shorter)

Using a YouTube video. And it worked BRILLIANTLY! So there.

Just sharing the wealth. And proving that there isn't ANYTHING you can't learn to do on YouTube. Power to the people.

Bringing in the outdoors

Awww...look how happy the Touch and the 'Berry are hanging out in their little patch of digital grass. I got this under $30 charging station at mxyplyzyk, this awesome online store with lots of cool kitschy things. Think Uncommon Goods+modern decor.

It's a great way to hide the obnoxious cords for my camera, phone, touch etc...all-the-while bringing a little loveliness to the top of my desk.

Yay for innovation!

Proof of Heaven

If ever I need to remind myself of God's presence and movement in my life, there are a handful of places I can look. My husband, my kids, and (brace yourselves) my mother-in-law. This woman is one of my favorite people in the universe...a best friend for life...and a much-needed mother to me. She's a figure of grace and loveliness.

She single-handedly raised the four boys above...and they are four of the neatest guys I know (one in particular *wink*). Each one is ridiculously different save for one thing...they have a keen ability to love like their Mother...without compromise.

This one is my favorite...my dear husband. I was drawn to his wild spirit (and forearms) from the start. His boyish charm persists, and I know who it was that cultivated the protective, strong confidence that he exudes.

This makes me want 4 boys.

Clearly, my children love her...their "Mammie". She loves them like her own.

And she knows how to have a good time too...

Her comedic side was passed to this one...the youngest...wearing the fake mustache and sporting the "Olan Mills" pose...

And her love and devotion to her kids has clearly transferred to my husband...I can see it every day in the way he loves. With his whole heart.

I love love love my mother-in-law. All the way to the moon, and back.

And she love love loves me back. Anthropologie style. She bought me these a-dor-uh-ble during her trip to Connecticut last year...

And these just this past week on her most recent trip there. More measuring cups! (notice a trend? I have a thing for them...)

As well as these rockin' dishes I can use as desk organizers.

The woman's got taste.

Beckoning Spring...

I'm willing Spring to get here faster by making yet another outfit. This time from the Gap. The great thing about this outfit, is you probably have these essentials in your closet already...here we go...

Button-down plaid shirt (go to Goodwill to find one, they are such a great resource, especially the men's section)...

Cardigan. I live by cardigans. I love them so much I want to ask them into my heart.

Jean shorts. And can I get an AMEN for the nice mid-length?! Perhaps the fashion industry is finally realizing that seeing 90% of anyone's thigh is unflattering.

SKINNY BELT. I want and need a skinny belt in my life. This particular skinny belt is going to be worn OVER the shirt and cardigan, cinched just a hair above your belly button. I belt everything...it's almost ridiculous.

And how flippin' cute are these sandals? The straight embellished line on the front of the sandal will mimic the line of your leg, and end up lengthening you. And the lack of a tight ankle-wrapped strap will keep you from having the "fat ankle" that we all dread.

And paint them toenails...mercy.
I'm willing the weather to warm...more outfits to come!

She's such a cute little old lady...note the hankie tucked into her sleeve.

Spring Dressing

I got that fateful email from Jcrew this morning alerting me to the new styles that have been added to their Final Sale.

So this is the outfit I "bought":

Jeans with belt (ignore the shirt and shoes for this outfit)...

Fantastic blouse...seriously dreamy...

I'm swooning over this jacket...totally in love with putty right now...

And these killer heels...I'm a sucker for any heel with a bow.

So there...my homage to Spring. I'm totally in the mood, if the dang weather would simply cooperate. Spring, come soon!! (but not before I can get a pedi).
